Featured Songwriter - Curly Putnam

One of the many gifted singer-songwriters that the Bear Creek Grill in Gatlinburg, TN has welcomed for the Songwriter's Series is Curly Putnam. Curly Putnam is a Nashville songwriter famous for "Green, Green Grass of Home" - which was widely covered by a huge range of popular artists - from Porter Wagoner to Elvis Presley, from Johnny Cash to Jerry Lee Lewis, from Merle Haggard to Tom Jones and many more!

And it's not every day Paul McCartney comes over to stay at your farm and write a song about it ("Junior's Farm").

Curly Putnam is a very accomplished addition to our list of performers at the Songwriter's Series and we were extremely proud and fortunate enough to feature him!

We will have dates posted of new shows soon, so keep checking back with us for updates. Here are some new photos we wanted to post as well:

Introducing the Smoky Songwriter's Series 2011 in Gatlinburg, TN!

June 10-11 at 8:00 PM, we will be showcasing respected songwriters from Nashville at Bear Creek Grill on Highway 321 in Gatlinburg, TN, near the Arts and Crafts Community. We will be featuring songwriters Sonny Throckmorton, Kenneth Duncan, and Debbie Throckmorton.

Sonny Throckmorton is one of the most successful songwriters in County Music. Over 1,000 of his songs have been recorded by artists such as Tanya Tucker, Dave and Sugar, Merle Haggard, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Oakridge Boys, and even comedian George Burns. Since then Kenneth has written with hit writers and artists such as Reed Nielson, Kenny Beard, Emerson Drive, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Kenneth is an accomplished vocalist and writes primarily on the guitar.

Debby Throckmorton is a songwriter, acting coach, screenplay writer and is well known for comic improv in Nashville. She is the daughter of Nashville's Hall of Fame SONNY THROCKMORTON. She also co-owns her own publishing company, Daylight Moon, along with Jim England and Angel Cropper.
